DIY Drink Tray Organizer

DIY Drink Tray Organizer

One of my biggest pet peeves around my house is finding drinks half-drunk with no owner claiming them.

Me, “Who’s cup is this?”

Them, “I don’t know.”

Me, “Who’s water bottle is this?”

Them, “I don’t know.”

Me, “Who’s Diet Coke is this? Oh, wait, that’s mine, never mind.”

A great solution to this problem is a DIY Drink Tray Organizer. This is a divided tray you set on your kitchen counter that has your kid’s names on it. In their section they place their drink. They are not allowed to get a new drink until every last drop of this drink has been drunk. This is also a great way to keep track of glasses and cups. Instead of using 5 glasses a day, they can use one glass and place it on the tray when they are done drinking. When the kids want more, they go back to the tray and use their glass. Here’s super easy instructions and what you will need:

  • 1 divided tray (I found my porcelain 3-section serving tray at Target on clearance for $4.95. I have three kids, so it worked out perfectly.)
  • stickers
  • clear acrylic spray (optional)
  1. Clean your tray and dry.
  2. Place stickers on your tray in some whimsical or obvious way. Don’t forget to label with your family’s names.
  3. If you would like to use acrylic spray, mask off the section you do not want sprayed and then follow the directions on the spray can. For additional coats let dry 2 minutes before applying again. Before handling, let dry 24 hours completely.

This tray is not to be used for food, just decoration and drink organization. Do not put in microwave or dishwasher. Hand wash with damp cloth or Clorox wipe and dry.

Enjoy showing off to your neighbors how utterly organized and crafty cool you are!
