12 Coolest Holiday School Party Games — Part 3

Did you hear those jingle bells? Do you know what that means? That means that presents need to be bought, decorations need to put up and cookies need to be baked. Oh, yeah, and right in the middle of that you have to plan a fabulous Holiday/Winter/Christmas school party!!! WHAT! Ok. Chill out. With these 12 Coolest Holiday School Party Games–Part 3 you can plan this party with games for Kindergarten all the way to 6th grade kiddos in your sleep. Let the merry begin!

Preschool, Kindergarten and 1st Grade

1. DIY Printable Holiday Memory Game

DIY Printable Holiday Memory Game

What you will need:

  • Print the above PDF files {click on the pictures above and save to your computer}
  • Scissors
  • Small pieces of candy (optional)
  • Tape

Directions: Print then cut out your memory game pieces. Lay your pieces on a table picture side down. Mix the cards up so they are out-of-order with pictures still facing down. Have first player turn over two cards to see if they have a match. If they do find a match, then the take those cards out of the mix. If they don’t find a match then they turn the cards back over. Next person takes a turn. Continue until all the matches have been found. The winner is the person who found the most matches.

* Optional: Tape a small piece of candy to the top of each card like a Hersey’s Kiss or Hersey’s Hug to act as a handle to turn cards over to see pictures.

3. Snowman Slam

2nd, 3rd and 4th Grades

5. Snow Ball Shooter Game

What you will need:

  • Plastic or styrofoam cups
  • Black and orange markers
  • Balloons
  • Glue
  • Cotton balls
  • Bowl or bucket

Directions to make shooters: Cut bottom off of your cup. Cut the tops off the balloons to make a larger opening. Glue the balloon to the bottom of the cup. Decorate your cup with markers to look like snowmen. Originally from Growing a Jeweled Rose {here}.

Directions for play: Have children stand several feet back from the bowl or bucket (their target). Give the children 6 cotton balls. First player tries to shoot their snowballs into the bowl. Next person takes their turn. Person to get the most snowballs in the bowl wins. Make it harder by setting the bowl back further after everyone had a turn.

6. Penguin Relay Race

What you will need:

  • 2 Nerf footballs (or any other soft balls)

Directions: Have the children partner-up. First set of partners must place the ball between their lower legs. From a designated starting point, the two penguins must waddle to the finish line without losing their penguin “egg.” If they drop their egg before the finish line, then they must start over again. First person to the finish line wins then next group has a turn.

9. Twiz The Season: Twizzler Tie Up Game

10. Christmas Tree Relay Race

What you will need:

  • Green crepe paper (1 roll per group)
  • Holiday foam stickers (ornaments)

Directions: Divide into two groups or partners. Have one person be the tree and the other team members must decorate their tree within a certain amount of time. Watch giggles and laughter ensue!

11. Holiday Ball

What you will need:

  • 2 wrapped shirt boxes
  • 2 ball ornaments

Directions: Divide your group into two teams. The first player of each team will play against each other. Using the wrapped cardboard box as a fan each player must move the ball ornament across the floor to a predetermined area. The first player to reach the finish zone wins. Continue until everyone has had a turn.
