3. Chocolate Chip Cookies in a Jar

  • 1 quart Mason Jar
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 – 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (approximate, whatever fits on top)

Instructions:

  1. Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in small bowl.
  2. Layer all the ingredients in a 1 quart mason jar in the order listed. First layer is the flour, baking soda and salt mixture (really pack this layer down by using a wooden spoon or small ladle), then brown sugar, granulated sugar and finally chocolate chips.

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/3 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, stir all ingredients together, until well mixed. 
  2. Pour mix into a 1 quart mason jar stopping to pack down by using a wooden spoon or small ladle as you go to get the whole mixture to fit.

5. Cinnamon Pancake Mix in a Jar

  • 6 cups of flour
  • 4 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoon sugar (or I used 9 packets of Pure Via Stevia, all natural zero calorie sweetener)
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, stir all ingredients together, until well mixed. 
  2. Pour mix into 2, 1 quart mason jars.

A Few Helpful Tips

1. Cut the bottom off of a plastic cup and use as a funnel.

2. Poor ingredients through funnel into jar. You could use a 1/4 cup dry measuring cup or spoon to help add ingredients to your jars.

3. I used a small gravy ladle to pat down the ingredients in between layers. You could also use the end of a wooden spoon or something similar to level and tap down each layer before adding the next one.
